Rensselaer looks to get an overhaul with the addition of a new casino by a scenic vacant site on the river. Working hard to introduce a functioning casino in this historic capital region, Mayor Dwyer has battled several let downs and last minute exists by gaming companies looking to expand their businesses.
In his ninth-year run at the office Dan Dwyer, is keen on improving economic situation in his home town in an effort to make Rensselaer a better place. A retired veteran Air Force Pilot and international commercial pilot for Pan Am, Dwyer is headstrong and set on bringing a casino into his home state under his watch.
Dwyer’s recent talks and ties with Chickasaw Nation’s Global Gaming Solutions and Hard Rock International, through representative David Flaum; has led to plans of building an entertainment and casino centre at the prized location.
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino set to be built along the banks of the Rensselaer River is an estimated $280 million project. It will immediately begin work once the state approves licensing of brick and mortar casinos in the region.
